Who we are

ITER VITIS France is a national non-profit association (law 1901).

Itinerary… we think itinerary… but it’s above all a Network. that federates wine-producing regions.

A network of destinations and professionals in rural, coastal and mountain areas, a grouping of economic, cultural and tourist players, as well as research establishments, whose aim is to generate a dynamic around the recognition of elements of winegrowing heritage and their enhancement.

Iter Vitis is a cross-disciplinary tool for building bridges between viticulture, tourism and culture; it’s a vehicle for territories to encourage decompartmentalization through European cross-sector cooperation.

A new look at the shared heritage and history of vines and wine, to provide new development opportunities in the heart of wine-growing terroirs, fostering a special relationship through a cultural and sensory experience.

Iter Vitis France is committed to cultural and human tourism, and encourages the sharing of experience and skills not only between the different regions it represents, but also between their players in the tourism, culture and viticulture sectors.

Iter Vitis draws on the cultural dimension, interpreting the cultural landscape and sharing knowledge to enhance discovery and experience.

Iter Vitis encourages an encounter with the history of winegrowing and winemaking through an active, participatory approach that respects the identity of the terroir and the people who have shaped it.

CERTIFICATION, RECOGNITION OF THE NETWORK’S IDENTITY ELEMENTS

The inclusion of a region or destination on the Cultural Route is the recognition of a strong identity– aesthetic, symbolic, historical… Recognition within the Council of Europe’s Cultural Route reveals their uniqueness, and is an asset in terms of differentiation and attractiveness.

The Scientific Advisory Board, made up of qualified individuals from the scientific, cultural, communications, marketing and innovation sectors, plays a major role in assessing applications, paying particular attention to publications and the dissemination of knowledge.
